The Vale Academy set to improve local area with new trees!
Pupils from The Vale Academy are set to improve their school playing field by planting trees.
They’re looking forward to putting their new saplings in the ground as part of an event they’ve organised to create an outside classroom.
Mrs Hooft, Vice Principal from The Vale Academy said: “We are working on developing different outside learning areas and the children have been working hard within our new forest school zones, mini-beast area and sensory garden.
Mrs Granger, Forest School Leader, said” This is a wonderful opportunity to bring native trees and plants to our environments.”
The trees, all native broadleaved species, will grow into a flourishing young wood in as little as 10 years. They have been provided by the Woodland Trust, as part of its free tree pack scheme, where trees are supplied to schools that want to improve their local environment.
