Is your child due to start school in September 2018?

If your child is due to start school in September 2018 and you would like to have a look around our academy, please come along to one of our open mornings running from Wednesday 27th September 2017 to Wednesday 10th January 2018. If you would like a tour but cannot attend one of our open mornings, then please do not hesitate to contact us on 01582 211150, and  Mrs Hagan (Admissions Officer) will be able to book you in for a tour of the academy and a meeting with our Headteacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team to answer any questions you may have.

In line with the School Admissions Code (1.4) The Vale Academy wishes to notify all interested parties that it is increasing its Published Admission Number (PAN) in National Curriculum Years R – 4 from its previous PAN of 50 to 75 students.


Admission to The Vale Academy falls into one of two categories, but in all circumstances admission is subject to the statutory Admissions Code, which can be found by following the link below to the Department for Education website: 


1. NORMAL ADMISSIONS ROUND - Admission to a year group starting in September of the current academic year 

  
Application for admission to start in Year R for September 2018 – the Normal Admissions Round for 2018-19, is managed by the local authority’s admissions team, whose address can be found below. The closing date for applications is January 15th 2018, however late applications will still be processed by the authority after this date. 

  
2. IN-YEAR ADMISSION - Admission to a year group after the starting date for that academic year (ie. September)

If the year group applied for is full (over-subscribed), an application for admission may be unsuccessful and parents will be advised of this as soon as possible. In such circumstances parents will need to consider alternatives and are advised to seek clarification and/or advice from one or more of the following:

Refusal of a place at one of The Shared Learning Trust academies does not affect the parental right to appeal – details of which can be found below and also by following the link below to the Department for Education website.

Appeal Forms 

Parents and Carers whose application for a place at The Vale Academy has been unsuccessful and who wish to appeal against that decision should do so by clicking here to download the form and submitting it to the TSLT Central Admissions Team at the address above. 

On receipt of their written appeal, all appellants will be notified of the date and time of their hearing within statutory timescales and no later than 10 days in advance of the scheduled hearing date. Decision letters will be sent to parents/carers within 5 days of the appeal having been heard.
